System Requirements
I plan to use the eLecta Virtual Classroom Software which requires the following:
PC-Based UsersOperating system: Windows 7, Vista, XP, or 2003 / 2008 Server
Minimum browser requirements: Firefox 3.0, Internet Explorer 7.0, or Google Chrome 5.0
(JavaScript and Java enabled with Java SE 6)
Mac-Based UsersOperating system: Mac OS X Leopard or newer
Minimum browser requirements: Firefox 3.0, Safari 3.0, or Google Chrome 5.0
(JavaScript and Java enabled with Java SE 6)
Internet ConnectionA reliable Internet connection is required. DSL or better is recommended.
Headphones and MicrophoneHeadphones or speakers and a microphone are required. A USB headset is recommended.
Optional EquipmentLive Video: A web cam is needed for live video broadcasting.
Handwriting: A digital tablet (such as the Wacom Bamboo Tablet) or supported tablet computer (for example a Tablet PC) is recommended for easier drawing or handwriting.
Class Dates
The first semester will begin the week of August 29, 2011 and end the week of December 12, 2011, with a break during the week of Thanksgiving.
The second semester will begin the week of January 23, 2012 and end the week of May 7, 2012, with a spring break during the week of March 19, 2012.

Other Things You Should Know
I strongly recommend that my students each keep a math journal in which they record any interesting mathematical ideas they encounter as well as every concept they find challenging.
I intentionally limit the size of my classes in order to encourage a lot of interaction among my students. I want everyone to participate.
